| Day 4: Homicide|
Day 59: Drug sales
Nacho Soriano's jeep was stolen from a gas station, while its owner went to the toilet.
Clues and witnesses
Nacho Soriano, jeep owner: "I drove to the gas station and went to the toilet, but as soon as I got out, I was attacked by a little man in a hood. He hit me in the knee with a baseball bat, took the keys from my jacket pocket and left.. The insurance company doesn't believe me. They have a witness, a gas station cashier, who says that there was no attack. The lying bastard even made me pay for the spilled gasoline!"
Carl Peppers, gas station cashier: "I'm just sitting behind the counter, minding the register. It's not my job to keep track of what's going on outside, so I was reading an exciting detective story 'The Last Temptation of Neptune' and not paying much attention. But I know for a fact that there wasn't somebody with a baseball bat beating up the customers. Oh, and don't worry about the cameras outside – they've been broken forever."
Nikolai Dougan, representative of the Jesus Got Your Back insurance company: "Mr. Soriano has big problems with his finances, and we believe he's trying to solve them by taking advantage of our fair company. It's not the first time we've been faced with fraud of this kind: the customer pays a small amount to an accomplice, who stages an attack and hijacks their car, in order to obtain an insurance payment. I should note, we do pay top dollar!"
Dennis Oyro, homeless man: "When the weather is bad, I usually sleep in a phone booth. No one uses them in the rain. But today I couldn't get in because there was some guy in a hood with a baseball bat in there. Who knows, maybe he was expecting an important call from his sports agent?"
Ike Mancini, medical examiner for the Jesus Got Your Back insurance company: "Mr. Soriano suffered a small hematoma in the area of the knee. This could have been caused by a blow from a hard blunt object, or from normal fall. In other words, Mr. Soriano may have just stumbled at home and gotten himself a bruise. He could have banged his knee against a wall, or even hit the door of his own jeep, from malice or simple negligence. There are a lot of possibilities!"
